Jim Mayo, FACHE, has been Hospital President of Baptist Medical Center Nassau since 1994. Before accepting his current position, he served at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Gadsden, Alabama, for 13 years. Before his involvement in hospital administration, he served as minister of Brookside Church of Christ in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Mayo holds a bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies from David Lipscomb College in Nashville, a master's degree in History, a Master of Divinity degree from Abilene Christian University in Texas, and a master's degree in Hospital and Health Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Mr. Mayo is active in both the Nassau County and regional communities. He is past President of the Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach/Yulee Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Nassau County Chamber of Commerce, and is past Chairman of the Board of Micah's Place. He has served on the board of Florida State College at Jacksonville (formerly FCCJ) and the Nassau County Economic Development Board. He is a graduate of Leadership Jacksonville 2000.
Currently, Mayo is past President of Eldersource, the Area Agency on Aging, an active member of the Amelia Island Sunrise Rotary Club and the Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida.
