Larry Joe Freeman
Administrator, Wolfson Children's Hospital

Larry Freeman has been the Administrator of Wolfson Children's Hospital since 1976. He earned his bachelor of science degree in business from Florida State University in Tallahassee and a master's in public health from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He served for six years in the U.S. Army Reserves, assigned to a combat hospital unit.

A native of Jacksonville, Freeman is a member of the Southside Rotary Club and has been involved in a number of local organizations, including the YMCA, United Way of Northeast Florida, and the March of Dimes. He also is active in several professional organizations, including the National Association of Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions (NACHRI), American College of Healthcare Executives, American Hospital Association and First Coast Healthcare Executives. Under his leadership, Wolfson Children's Hospital hosted the 2001 annual meeting of NACHRI at Amelia Island.
